SynqeraSynqera, a technology startup that uses big data to bring a personalized digital experience to the physical retail store through multiple channels, showcased tandem technologies used throughout the in-store shopping experience at the NRF Retail’s BIG Show 2014.

The Synqera retail solution is a software-based, targeted communication platform for retail data collection and analysis. Two of the physical channels Synqera provides for the consumer that are showcased at the NRF show – Loyalty Generator and Simplate – work in tandem with the software to deliver shoppers personalized content, themed product suggestions and recommended purchase paths during every in-store experience. 

Eighty-five percent of adults polled in a recently commissioned survey believe that their general shopping experience could be better. Providing shoppers with relevant information and promotions about products they already enjoy from the moment they enter a store to the point-of-sale vastly improves loyalty. Unplanned purchases are most impacted by information delivered within the store.

Current retail customers that use the Synqera platform and its hardware products include Ulybka Radugi, one of the largest household goods and cosmetics stores in Russia, along with premium grocery chain Land. Synqera’s analytics and customer personalization technology enhances the shopping experience at critical points throughout the sales process to convert shoppers.

Synqera Loyalty Generator

Most Americans frequently make unplanned purchases, and half describe themselves as impulsive shoppers. Within the survey mentioned above, 92% of U.S. consumers use some kind of shopping list (68% specifically use or bring a paper list) to stay organized. 

In a partnership with global printing manufacturer Star Micronics, Synqera Loyalty Generators are compact printing devices with interactive touch-screens located at store entrances providing targeted content relevant to new and returning customers. 

Activated with a loyalty card, Loyalty Generators print out personalized product recommendations relevant to individual shopping needs, including:
• Personalized, on-demand shopping lists based on predictive analytics (customer profile analysis, individual shopping history, time of the day, and day of the week).
• Recommendations of new products and special offers based on predictive analytics (deep analysis of customer segments and behavioral patterns).
• Storytelling shopping lists: recommended products by retailer; real time information on range of products within the store, prices and special offers.
• Recipes, picked up specially for this particular customer based on his shopping preferences and reflecting actual store range.

Loyalty Generators found within the Land grocery chain help shoppers find and discover products that they need as well as incentivizing loyalty program members to purchase based on special offers and promotions. The interactive kiosks at the front of the store print out personalized product recommendations relevant to individual shopping needs, especially for those who repeat-purchase at the retailer. This increases overall basket size for grocers, while also providing an easy yet comprehensive marketing tool for recommended brand switching, product promotions, and upselling specific products.

Synqera Simplate

80% of Americans are interested in seeing and/or doing something while waiting to pay for their purchases. Most would be interested in seeing coupons/in-store specials, and nearly one-third would be interested in relevant partner/retailer promotions. Simplate, found at the POS within both Land and Ulybka Radugi, is a proprietary Synqera tablet devices with interactive customer display and near field communication (NFC) technology that have powerful multimedia capabilities created to attract and monetize customer attention.

Simplate collects and analyzes real-time customer feedback via an interactive survey on customer satisfaction. It also leverages Synqera software to interactively recommend relevant products for shoppers to add to their basket, provide in-store coupons and targeted offers prior to finalizing their purchases.
