Solaris Implements JDA Space and Category Management Solutions

SolarisJDA®Software Group, Inc., The Supply Chain Company®, today announced that Solaris, a French eyewear house, has successfully implemented two solutions from the JDA® Space and Category Management suite. The solutions, including JDA® Space Planning and JDA® Space Automation, were chosen to help Solaris centralize category management, merchandising and supply chain services for all of partners worldwide.

Solaris is a French eyewear house that distributes and sells designer and private label brands of sunglasses from its more than 350 stores in 20 countries including France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Russia and South America. Solaris has adopted a unique and efficient sales concept that allows customers to try on sunglasses as they wish with direct access to the products.

Challenged with spreading and implementing its marketing concept and merchandising expertise to its many stores and corners around the world, while also allowing regional partners to include “freedom brands” they select themselves to complete their local assortment, Solaris turned to JDA’s comprehensive space and category management solutions to help solve its business needs. Solaris expects the JDA solutions to help:
  • Improve the productivity of the merchandising department through new tool and automation capabilities
  • Centralize category management, merchandising and supply chain services for all partners worldwide
  • Develop accurate analyzing tools for a more efficient global strategy
  • Easily deploy an international platform in multiple regions and countries
The JDA space and category management solutions will help Solaris support its local and international growth by addressing local demands while sharply defining and deploying its brand marketing and merchandising concept with a consistent, centralized and efficient global approach.

The solutions were implemented in collaboration with JDA Alliance member Cube Solutions, who assisted with the JDA Space Planning customization and implementation. It also designed and implemented merchandising rules using JDA Space Automation to automate part of the process, especially the planogram creation.
