Rosselkhoznadzor suggested that Belarus should impose restrictions on the supply of dairy products and fruits as far back as November 20.
Starting today, December 7, Russia introduces a series of special measures in regard to products from Belarus. In particular, the imports of dairy products of five Belarusian producers will be forbidden, and the restrictions will be imposed on the importation of fruits and vegetables from Belarus.
According to media reports, the supplies of dairy products of Milkavita, Rogachev Dairy Plant, Slutsk cheese-dairy, “Novogrudok Gifts" and Smorgon dairy companies to the Russian Federation will be suspended.
Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor raised a list of claims to them. According to Rosselkhoznadzor officials, the dairy plants used raw materials from third-country companies without a proper quality control, and some cases of sanitary documents falsification were discovered.
As early as November, Rosselkhoznadzor presented to Belarus a plan for self-limiting deliveries from those producers to the Russian Federation, with no response expected from the authorities of the republic received, however. Hence, the supplies from the five above dairies were banned by the government agency.
Besides, starting from December 7, Rosselkhoznadzor imposes restrictive measures on fruit and vegetables imports from the country. As an agency spokesperson explains, the special regime in respect of plant products implies authentication of sanitary certificates that form the basis for re-export certificates issued in Belarus.
