Retail’s BIG Show opened in New York
On the 13th of January was opened the 102nd Annual NRF Convention & EXPO. Retail’s BIG Show kicked off with the initial sessions of First Look, the digital commerce track developed by NRF’s division. They included a forward-looking take on the technologies that will influence e-commerce in 2013 from Cotter Cunningham, CEO of WhaleShark Media, as well as findings from the annual latest State of Retailing Online (SORO) report delivered by Forrester Research’s Sucharita Mulpuru.
The NRF Foundation is hosting hundreds of college students who plan to make retailing their career. Оn the 12th of January they met with recent college graduates now working in the industry and attended a session in which prominent retail executives shared their stories and offered career advice.
Global retailing is sure to be a hot topic at the event, which features two keynotes with a global focus. Sunday’s keynote features senior executives from the Spanish apparel retailer Mango and food retailer Delhaize Belguim, while Ex-UN secretary-general Kofi Annan address retailers today. We note that this year, Retail’s BIG Show welcomes the most international attendees in the event’s history—more than 5600 attendees from over 70 countries. They will be able to explore the latest solutions from more than 450 exhibitors.
