Путин.jpgGovernment agencies together with the Institute of Internet Development will prepare proposals for amendments to be introduced into the laws to ensure equal conditions for operation of internet companies by 1 September 2016.

Such a request was made after the meeting of the head of the state with the participants of the first Internet Economy forum and published on the Kremlin site.

"The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Tax Service, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media jointly with the respective federal executive authorities and the autonomous non-commercial organization the Institute of Internet Development are to submit the proposed amendments to the laws to ensure equal terms for carrying on business by companies in the Russian Federation with use of the internet network. The deadline is 1 September 2016," the document states.

German Klimenko, Presidential adviser in charge of the internet development issues, mentioned previously that it was necessary that working conditions for Russian internet companies should be the same as those for foreign players in terms of tax laws applicable to their operation in the territory of the Russian Federation. He believes that if domestic companies pay a tax, foreign companies must be taxed in the same way. At present foreign companies pay taxes in the countries of their registration, but they do not pay taxes operating in Russia, he pointed out.
