Lenovo products to be equipped with Russian processors
A Chinese manufacturer plans to purchase Baikal processors produced in Russia
Lenovo plans to use Russian processors manufactured by T-Platforms in the new generation of its equipment.
According to the information published in mass media, these chips will be produced by a subsidiary of the Russian company Baikal Electronics.
The Lenovo employees believe that use of the Russian processors will help them get government orders.
They hope that the equipment with upgraded microprocessors will become highly popular with clients, leaving numerous competitors far behind. Baikal will start to develop processors for several platforms at a time. Baikal T will be used in smartphones and tablet computers. Besides, a processor supporting office applications will appear in the not so distant future.The Russian side has so far refrained from comments. However, it has been reported that the developers expect their products to be used by businesses.
