Lenovo gains ground on Apple and Samsung in the Russian tablet market

Results of the last two months show that Lenovo holds a significant share of the tablet market, head-to-head with Apple and Samsung
Apple and Samsung stayed traditional leaders on the tablet market (in roubles) just a while ago. Their aggregate share in sales on the Russian market reached 60% at the end of 2013, 50% - in 2014, and over 40% as of the end of the first half of 2015.
During the same period, Lenovo entrenched in the top three with a share of 12%, according to the Svyaznoy retail chain. Last October Lenovo became the segment leader in terms of the ruble share of the market – for the first time in the history of developing the tablet segment by the company. In October the brand took 19% of the market in rubles, 0.5 percentage points ahead of Samsung, the nearest rival. Apple is the last among the three.
In October 2014 Lenovo’s share amounted to 13%. In November, Lenovo surpassed Samsung's in terms of sales revenue. However, in November 2015 the company failed to keep the leadership in the market share in rubles, because of iPad Pro entry in the market and sales of the updated iPad mini. As a result, Apple was the leader that month.
