Ken Leaver to speak at the PLUS-Forum “Online & Offline Retail 2016”
Ken Leaver, Vice President of Products for Operations and Seller Platform at Lazada, has confirmed his participation as a speaker at the 3rd International PLUS-Forum “Online & Offline Retail 2016” to be held at Sokolniki Congress&Exhibition Centre in Moscow on April 4-5. The event is organized by The Retail & Loyalty Journal.
Lazada is the leading e-Commerce company in SE Asia, which is considered to be the 'Amazon of South East Asia' and is a Rocket Internet company with over 7,000 employees and a valuation of well over a billion dollars from investors including Tesco and Temasek Holdings. Lazada also has its own in-house logistics company LEX with over 3,500 employees, making it the largest e-Commerce logistics provider in the region.
Ken is responsible for designing the systems that run the company and coding them with the development team. This includes the warehouse, supply chain, finance, logistics, and seller platform. With over 400 developers Lazada designs and codes almost all of its own systems giving it great flexibility in tailoring for the unique challenges of operating in this region. Prior to Lazada Ken spent over seven years in Russia and Ukraine and speaks Russian quite well. His previous role was as CEO of Groupon in Ukraine where he started in early 2011 with a team of about 10 people and grew the company to over $8m in annual revenue and at one point over 100 employees. And previous to Groupon Ken spent three years with Visa, first as Head of Acquiring Products in Russia and then later as Head of Issuing Products for Southeastern Europe and CIS countries.
