The world’s smallest infrared remote-control helicopter will debut in June by an online Japanese retailer. CCP Co Ltd, a Tokyo-based subsidiary of Bandai Co Ltd, will release the helicopter toy on June 8, 2013.
Called the Nano Falcon, it is just 65 mm in length and 11 grams in weight, and comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery that allows it to stay in the air for five minutes after a full battery charge.
On March 13 this year, the Guinness Book of World Records awarded the Nano Falcon the Guinness world record for being the world’s smallest infrared remote-controlled helicopter toy. The Nano Falcon will be available online and at selected toy retailers. It is expected to retail for ¥4,704 (US$46), and the Japanese company predicts sales of 100,000 units in the first year.
