According to the statement of the Economic Development Ministry, no limitations are envisaged for sending such parcels, except for the volume of alcohol sent.
EEC plans to prepare their opinion on the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development by mid-March. The proposal provides for allowing legal entities and sole entrepreneurs to supply alcohol in parcels abroad in the volume not exceeding five liters.
The EEC press service confirmed receipt of the proposal saying: “We forwarded it to the concerned parties for review and formulation of their positions to be ready within 30 days.” The Economic Development Ministry spokesman says that other restrictions on such postal items (including special marking) are not envisaged.
Changes in the legal base that may be needed in case of a positive decision are currently under consideration. The effective date of the permission to send alcohol in parcels is within the EEC competence, the ministry said.
