Chinese marketplaces hold 70% of cross-border retail e-commerce market in Russia

The figures were given in a speech of Adrian Henney, EWDN Editor in Chief, at the China-Russia E-Commerce Summit.
Domestic e-commerce market in Russia is valued at about $14.5 billion and 26 million online shoppers, according to EWDN. A few years later - the speaker said - it will be the largest e-commerce market in Europe.
Regarding cross-border trade, A. Henny informs, EWDN estimations show that in 2014 the market amounted to approx. $2.5 billion, while 70% of this volume in Russia is held by the following Chinese players (based on their website traffic in descending order): Aliexpress, Alibaba.com, Ebay, Amazon, Taobao and JD.com.
